Advanced beekeeping courses are designed for individuals who already have a good knowledge of beekeeping but are looking to perfect certain skills, overcome or prevent illnesses in the hive, or optimize their honey flow.
A practical course that is given in one of our apiaries, we will discuss common problems and solutions related to the course content. Our beekeepers also take the time to answer all related questions you may have.
4 different courses are offered, covering different topics. Please make sure you select the proper course covering the content that you wish to follow.
Below are the courses offered. Each course has a number in parenthesis before the date, for example: ( #4 ) August 22, 2021 1 pm to 4 pm. Is course number # 4 from the list below.
# 1 Springtime Startup. This course covers hive management in spring, and how to ensure your hives become strong and develop as quickly as possible.
# 2 Detecting and managing illnesses. Learn how to detect different illnesses and parasites, as well as how to treat and prevent them.
# 3 Optimizing your honey flow. Learn how to prepare your hive before the honey flow and ways to increase your honey harvest.
# 4 Fall management and preparing for winter. Covers all the steps necessary to prepare your hive for winter such as treating, feeding and winterizing.
We provide gloves and full protective suits. If you have your own suit, feel free to bring it.
Courses last approximately 3 hours, and are given in groups of 5 to 15 maximum directly on our farm.
